FT-IR based Remote Sensing systems allow for fully automated identification, and localization of a large set of potentially dangerous gas compounds on industrial sites. They can cover a vast area, which is in most cases only limited by the line of sight of the employed systems.
By this they can easily replace a complex sensor network consisting of many chemical-specific point sensors in order to localize dangerous gas leakages.
